A pink glitter liner look just in times for Valentine's day. Super quick, simple and effective if you are a fan of sparkly makeup!

Blue & Black Glitter

I'm almost a week late but Happy New Year everybody! I hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and here is my first look of the year!

I usually try and steer away from using blues - especially mattes - as I always find they come out rather muddy looking when I blend them. So I decided to use just that today to see how it would turn out.

It didn't turn out too bad , I still found it a lot more difficult to blend than any other colour, but I persevered and stuck with it. I've used this shadow from Concrete Minerals before but almost always in a way that didn't need to blended out. CM loose shadows are wonderful so I thought this one would be my best bet at getting a smoother application.

I didn't want to do anything over complicated as I anticipated it coming out a big ol' mess, so I just teamed it up with a chunky black glitter and kept it simple.

Let me know what you think. Are there any colours that you struggle to work with or are likely to avoid?

Christmas Sparkle

Orange, Pink & Lilac

Here's one last fun look before I move onto more Christmas and party appropriate looks for over the holidays, using shadows from Concrete Minerals. Of course I couldn't resist throwing in some multi-coloured glitter! I'd just like to note that the 'Hustle' eyeshadow from Concrete Minerals that I used around the inner corner is actually more of a mauve-pink shade, but in my lighting appeared to be more of a lilac.

A simple grey, shimmering smoked out shadow all over with a vibrant winged out liner and a pop of glitter.

I love using liquid lipsticks that dry matte as liquid eyeliners when it comes to wanting a more unusual colour choice to amp things up a little!

Peacock Blue

Taking a little break from the gorey Halloween looks today!

If you follow me on Instagram, you will already see that I am a big fan of the Makeup Addiction (formerly Hair and Makeup Addiction) brush sets, and I'm really pleased to finally try out some of their newer makeup products, including their loose pigments. I also used the Makeup Addiction 'Ultimate Eye Set' brushes to apply this, as they are the newest addition to my brush collection and I just couldn't wait to use them.

The pigment that I used all over the lid is actually a stunning peacock green shade, but my lighting captured it as more of a vivid blue shade, but still looks so pretty!

I'm also really loving these super dense double lashes from Girls With Attitude, which are essentially two pairs of strip lashes already pre-stacked for you.

Fiery

I dug out my old BH Cosmetics 120 palette today - This palette was one of the first palettes I ever bought when I first started posting makeup photos, since I couldn't afford or have access to higher end products and needed a lot of colours to play around with.

To this day this palette still remains one of my favourites for value for money. The quality is decent and there's pretty much every colour and finish in there.

There are quite a few brands that stock this kind of 120 palette and I'd recommend them for anybody working with a budget or first starting out. They are fantastic to practice with and mine is seeming to last forever! I hope you like the look I put together today using all shadows from the 2nd Edition.

Shadow Couture

My first shot at trying out the recent 'Shadow Couture' palette, one of the new fall releases from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I teamed the palette up with this stunning glitter from Violet Voss for extra sparkle to really make these otherwise neutral (but equally gorgeous) shades come to life.

It was also the perfect excuse to try out another lash brand that is new to myself, and I thought these fluttery lashes from Backstage Lashes were perfect for this look!

Emerald Sparkle

I decided to brighten up my day with this stunning emerald green 'Gwen' glitter from Violet Voss and some of the lovely purple shadows from my Crown Brush 'Smoke It Out' palette.

Seeing as greens and purple is a fun and brave combination, I decided to finish off the look with a softer lash style. I used 100% mink lashes (cruelty free, of course!) from one of my favourite premium lash brands - Sweetheart Lashes - to bring this look together.
